Why doesnt yamaha use a clutch similar to their grizzly ultramatic clutch. They are bulletproof and never wear out belts. The primary does not spin at idle, it relies on a centrifugal wet clutch inside the engine. Ive heard of people getting 30000km on original belt, I have 13000 hard km on mine still like new.

They can't handle the power that the snowmobile engines produce.

The new Team Cat clutches use a similar system in theory but quality problems are a issue. Does work well when working. Also rpm kills belts no matter what. With loss of gear reduction comes loss of belt reliability. The atv and utv 4 strokes using belt aren’t
Revving as high as the sled motors without gear reduction pto.
