Haha! Hear ya!
In case you want it... 3JD-W0047-10-00 CALIPER SEAL KIT
On the parts diagram and listing it shows a caliper assembly (Left)... but not (Right). My sled is at the lake house so I can't go see for myself... does the caliper split in two or is it one piece?

The caliper is indeed split in the middle so there will be some sort of seal between the two halves. I am just not sure if I really want to tear this apart just to satisfy my curiosity. However if there is no snow for a while I may need a project to keep me busy! If I end up tearing into this I will take pictures of what I find.

That is a dilemma! Hum.![]()
It would be interesting to disassemble a caliper and inspect all the components.
Volunteers??
I don't think that I'm going to be taking mine apart any time soon being that they have lots of life left in them and the sled is an 06 with 17,000 km on it. I changed the pads around the other day so I should be good for awhile.

If you're really bored work on the clutch rattle issue first!

My last 2 apexs do the same thing
I played with shims and got the wear more even. Also one thing of not. I put almost 22000 miles on my first apex and wore out many sets of pads, and one rotor. I found that spx pads lasted about twice as long as the factory pads. most time aftermaret stuff just don't last. But not with the pads.

What do you mean by "fixed mount"?

That means the caliper is mounted solid and doesn't move.

OK, I thought that he meant that he "fixed" the mount somehow.

My vector wears the same way. Not quite as extreme though.

Same on all of my Apexe's. Ride for 7k then swap them for another 7k. Then replace. It's a fact of life and a design flaw. no big deal.

Same deal here
I have 8200 on mine. The one pad had the thickness of a piece of paper, the other like new. I got new pads, I will watch and when it gets bad, i now have 1 spare pad. They seem to be moving, it must have got hung up.

Looks like everyone has the same issue. I did the same, replacing the pads and saving the old "good" pad as a spare.
