I have had this 03 rx1 hartman 136 around since last summer. I couldn't wait to get a run. Well I finally got some seat time this weekend and I can't believe how ancient this lead sled rides! Engine is decent but otherwise feels like riding something out of the mid ninties. I had Yammies for years and my last machine made me see the light. It was a 99 mxz 600 and handled light years ahead of this rx1 and seemed to have a better bottom end power! I really think this crate is for sale to go back to yellow and the 21 century. I have done the wrenching fra max unload front shocks load shocks, let straps out take them in If there is a fine line to being able to steer this and keep it upright I don't have time to f#@# with it instead of ride it. Sorry guys but I really think you should take your heads out of the snow bank and ride something else.

I guess it all depends on where you've come from and what your riding style is like. I really enjoy my '03 RX1 and don't find it as you described at all. I guess you can classify me as a cruiser who likes to have sudden surges of speed down the trail, and for that type of riding, this sled is awesome. I also have an Attak, and to be honest, I have a hard time deciding which one I want to ride. Hey, I just like to ride. I also have a '79 Exciter and that's a thrill to get on, also.

Therefore, I think I'm going to keep my head in the snow bank and insist on others keeping their opinions on what I ought to do with my sled to themselves.

Jon

p.s., I'll take your piece of $*#t off your hands for a cheap price.

In response to ecopter where I am there are no groomed trails so I guess instead of cruising we ditch bang and I need somethig lighter with a more responsive suspension. But Bob if I keep riding this I will need a pharmicist and chriopractor instead of a top end job at 3-5000k

You know what I'm not impressed with, its a newbie with a total of seven posts , nothing in his profile and nothing good to say!! SEE YA !!!, Ken.

Well, if you ditch bang then the RX-1 really isnt the sled for you.
I think that most of us on here would agree that especially in '03 that the RX-1's engine was a work of art but the suspension could have been better.

Do yourself a favor and take a free demo ride: http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/event ... edule.aspx

Then if you don't like the Yamaha offerings you can test ride the other brands before plunking down your hard earned cash on something you may not like.

Oh wait, the other brands don't offer demo rides do they?

My bad, guess that's what I get when I have my head buried in a snowbank.

Chalk one up for sleddersteve. I think this guy is an infiltrator. BYE BYE
:die INFILTRATORS

I think we can all appreciate some honest feedback positive or negative when it comes to Yamaha but when you start telling thousands of happy customers to take their heads out of snowbanks, you really make yourself look stupid and furthermore discredit anything you have to say. Enjoy your Ski Doo.

You might want to try spell check, a dictionary, and a better education BEFORE riding if you are going to post stupid sh#% like this. "But Bob if I keep riding this I will need a pharmicist and chriopractor instead of a top end job at 3-5000k" If you want to have a educated opinion on the topic that is more than fine, But if bed time is after disney on Sunday night... LISTEN TO YOUR PARENTS AND GO TO BED!!! What the hell is a chriopractor? And there is only 1 I in Pharmacist, unlike in idiot.
