Well as you all know, the ATTAK in it's original setup is quite the Darting expert. At least in Quebec, the snow conditions here made it almost unbearable.... So I first put on C&A Razors on there: 40-50% better but still some improvement. Wasn't saitsfied so I finally took 20 minutes to shim the skis and another 40% better... So I'm left with just a little Darting but much less than what the REV chassis I rode two years ago had. I don't know if just shimming the skis would be enough but I'm very pleased with the actual setup.. And also, I put on 8 inch carbides on there but havn't ridden hard packed yet.. NOw i'm gonna work on the inside ski lift that is still a little more than I would like, but we're getting there

Darting
My GT is dancing all over the trail. I spoke with the folks at Bergstrom and they are sending me some new carbides, ski savers and shim kits enough for every Yamaha I own. Everyone says that it will fix the dancing

Rash, How thick was the shim you put in? I started with 1/4 inch and ended up with about 3/8 inch before it got rid of all the darting.

I put on 1/4 inch on them, but I'm afraid if I raise the front of the skis more I will loose grip on the carbides... But My darting is 80% gone and I'm gonna tolerate it like that. If you just shim, I doubt 1/4 inch is enough... I talked to another guy that shimmed 1/4 inch and said it wasn't enough... I don't think the skis are meant to point up that much...

does the shim go rearward or foward of the spindle?

Rearward. Can be mounted on the top or bottom of the rubber bumper. The shim forces the back of the ski down and the front up. The results are skiing on top of the snow rather than plowing down into the snow causing darting and the back end to become loose and wiggle left and right.
I just used a piece off an old belt and it works great.

I shimmed my ski's with the 1/4 inch shims and it definitely reduced darting but did not totally eliminate it. I am not sure you can completely do so anway since some ruts are going to still eat your lunch a bit. Just added my 6" Bergstrom triple points (without ski savers to start) and will test them next run then will add the savers and try it again for comparison.

Did your sled steer harder after the shim's. I tried shim's and noticed that as you add shim's the darting eases but the sled start's to feel heavier. I bought a set of Duece bar's frome Stud boy and it was a big improvment and did not push like the Dualy's do as i tried a set of them on my RX and took them off because of the push. kviper

You may have to adjust your weight transfer rods or shock on the new ones

I think all you really need is to shim them enough so that the runner or carbide on the runner is not pointing down and is straight. 1/4" shim maybe too much, try 1/8"

I just did 2 sets last night, you may see anywhere's from 1/4" up to a 1/2" shim.
Old sliders cut down with a hack saw and ground down with a belt sander, old belts work well to. I was using 3M Super 77 Spray Adhesive 4 the rubber and Devcon 5 minute Expoxy Gel 4 the plasic.
