I dont understand why u would do this The ski is made to have the weight at the front and is made to steer from the front isnt it
I bought a set of USI ski`s for my RX and noticed the first ride this weekend that the front of the ski is being used more than themiddle and way more of at all the back isnt even touching by the looks of it the front part of carbide is rounding already and the back and middle are pointed still

Now that my skis are shimmed, 1/4 inch, and are pointing a little up the darting is much better but YES steering is heavier... so that's how it goes, probably that Yamaha wants the skid to feel LIGHT so it was set up that way... There is no free fix, you must give up something to eliminate darting it seems... But my actual setup is good for me... It might be a little heavy in twisty trails and with someone with less physical endurance...

Darting
Ya know what: I'll take the heavy steering. Mine darts so bad I would classify it as dangerous at times. Is letting the skid down a bit a partial solution to the heavyness?

I was very impresed with the duece bar's so unless thing's change drasticaly in different condition's then i was in this last weekend i won't need to shim. kviper

Letting the skid down by lengthening the limiter strap or going with more transfer wil not take weight off of the ski's on the Mono shock, It will only change how far it will transfer as there is no shock and spring in the front of the skid to carry load. kviper

What about adjusting the control rod
I just hung up from my dealer and he suggested adjusting the control rod to take pressure off the skiis. He says there will be a little lift, but nothing to worry about. Has anyone done this?

If you guys pushed the throttle a little bit harder you wouldn't have any darting problems. LOL
Just remember. This mono shock skid is still fairly new tech. Its going to take some time to figure out all the adjustments.

In regards to the darting I too had a fair amount of darting on my Apex-er and so I put the Ski-doo ski-savers (for want of a better name) on mine. There were three others in our group that set theirs up the same. The Ski-doo ski-savers along with the Studboy 6" shaper bars worked perfectly. Absolutely no darting at all. These other three guys are coming off Ski-doo's but all of us agree that the handleling is fantastic. In fact we felt it was the best handleing sleds we have had. This is a cheap fix (approx. $22.00 dollars) and fit perfectly. Takes about 30 minutes or less to install. We put between 350 miles on in all kinds of trails and some boon docking in the last three days and we never felt any darting at all. Hope this helps.
