I had asked this question early last year and for obvious reasons no one had any real trial info. Now that a year has gone by i'll give it another try. Is it worth getting a roller secondary for the Apex. I know Tork likes the Roller Rooster but said that based on RX-1. I think the stock clutching is pretty good for all around and defenently from a belt wear standpoint (same belt all year, and clutches were never hot even after some hard runs). I don't want to get a roller only to be changing my belt every other day. I understand ( at least I think I do) the benifits of a roller secondary and would like to convert, I just want to make sure i'm not gonna be that guy going through belts like oil in a Two-Stroke.
Please help, any opinions would be great.

I have been using the roller rooster from advant-edge since 1999 on all my yammie sleds. To get a close comparison to a regular helix you have to add allmost 10 degrees to each angle to get similar shift charecteristics. Anyone that rode my Attack at the Manitoba TY ride was impressed at backshift & 0-100 accelleration response. I think I used a 41/35 in my attack. With propery secondary pretension belt wear is the same as stock....most guys run way too less preload on the driven. In deep snow stock clutching would drop to 9000 rpm where as with my roller it would see 10k plus rpm. Anyway; I have 6+ years experience with that unit on allmost every sled Yamaha has made since 1999.I have also used the roller with oem weights; heelclickers;heavy hitters & supertips. If you have basic clutch tuning knowledge you can tune 1 in an afternoon.
I realize this is not the same sled so it is a different comparision but......... I have a 2005 RS Rage and I put in the composite roller bearing kit on my stock secondary sheaves. It was a complete kit from Bruce at Pioneer Performance.... www.pioneerperformance.net I love it! It took maybe an hour to unbolt my secondary take it in the house and using the directions provided bolt the kit in, and back into the sled. Made a big difference on backshifting response and throttle response in deep snow.
Sorry....this is not a direct comparison to your sled or secondary you are looking at but I always like to find out as much information as I can on things as well.

I ran a Lightning Pro roller for about 2000 miles winter, no regrets....... but could not get the HeelClickers to function with the roller to my satisfaction. Went back with the Stock primary set-up and it runs great!
