So I pulled the chaincase down the other night and found that there was a washer or slinger behind the wobble bearing.

When I was looking at the exploited diagram I found no washer behind the jackshaft. [emoji848] I am worried what would happen without it... Or if there will be slack behind the bearing and cause issues. I did order every piece for 16'.

The locking threaded sleeve was a pain to get unlocked. Having to give the jackshaft a serious smack was an understatement! Also the collar only moves in a very small amount to "unlock" the shaft! Hoping Steve (cannondale) will elaborate once he is into his![emoji1]

The new bearing doesn't say China on it, but the old one that was China does have a steel cage and the new one that has no markings on it has a plastic cage! Anyone have info on a better bearing and WHERE to get it?

You can see the plastic cage!

The collar in first pic is part of the taper lock. It is not used in 16. I decided I am going to try the stock 16 bearing with plastic cage. Have not heard of a single 16 failure although it was a low mileage year. I kind of like plastic cage since it will not rust and strength is not a issue since a cage will not take any force to break whether steel or plastic. We will see.

Good call Steve! I'm going to run it as well then! You talked me into it![emoji51]
