I got the updated elbow (8KC-F4376-10) for the fuel tank vent along with the clamp that it calls for. The parts are only a few bucks each. The new elbow is black and has a large opening right through it. The old red elbow has a very small opening. I used my plumbing pex crimper to crimp the clip.

I didn't check it Dan but it's the same all the way through. The red one has a very tiny hole in it and looks very restrictive. I have no real idea what the problem was with the red one but I figured for 8 bucks I would just go with the updated part.Joe.....did you check the ID? I assume it must be 3/16''?

My stock red one was exactly 3/16" on the small end(clamped end) and the large end(into tank grommet) was stepped down, and so I drilled that end to 3/16 to fix it. So it sounds like the black updated elbow same but without that step down.
Thnx gang

I have the red elbow and have excessive exhaust staining on my plastics and it idles low sometimes then sometimes high and sometimes good. I feel this is the culprit but has anyone else had these symptoms and replace the elbow and cure it

I think replacing the elbow will fix most of the issues with this sled. I noticed my Winder handles better now and my clutches are cooler. Who would have thought that little elbow would have such a huge effect?I have the red elbow and have excessive exhaust staining on my plastics and it idles low sometimes then sometimes high and sometimes good. Yeah, it’s a little embarrassing when your $17,000 sled don’t idle right when you come to a stopI think replacing the elbow will fix most of the issues with this sled. The idle symptoms you are describing could be the roll over valve malfunctioning. NO BSI have the red elbow and have excessive exhaust staining on my plastics and it idles low sometimes then sometimes high and sometimes good. I feel this is the culprit but has anyone else had these symptoms and replace the elbow and cure it

So if one has the red elbow instead of ordering the black elbow we could just drill the small end at 3/16" ? Or would it be advised just to order the black one?
Also just to ask is this something a yamaha dealer would switch out for free or is this on our own dime?

If I was home and near dealer Id just order one like Joe did, its cheap. But likely not a warranty item.So if one has the red elbow instead of ordering the black elbow we could just drill the small end at 3/16" ? Or would it be advised just to order the black one?

Drilling is easy, but you gotta be careful....and take your time.
