So I have this friend of mine that I ride with. Both him and his brother have been Diehard Yamaha riders for quite some time. Both ride Apex's that are pretty quick. The one Brother was telling me that he had gotten ahold of a service manual that tells you how to turn up the fuel percentage through the guage cluster. He said that most apex's come "pretuned" for about 90-92% fuel use. He has his turned up to 100% and he said it gives him a very noticeable increase in low end. I am a diesel truck guy so what he is telling me seems very logical and similar to what Chiping your truck would do. So the question is has anyone else had this done??? I have never read anywhere online that says you can do this. Is what I am explaining the same thing that the Powercommander does???

The onboard computer way of doing it changes it for the whole range on each individual cylinder. The power commander changes it at different rpm. Look here:

CO pod adjustment is from idle to 7000 RPM,there is no effect at high RPM.
This is for low end hesitation.
Pc3 is a full range fuel remapping.....from bottom to top as needed.

The C0 adjusts low end circuitry only, the same area as the pilot jets and screws on a carbed engine.

So basicly the powercommander does all that and then some??? So basicaly adjusting the fuel through the guage can be done better with a more broader application using the Powercommander.

I tested that CO only affect 0-2500 or so rpm... after that no effect.
