I used a crowfoot wrench as advised by Grizz to loosen the steering link and adjust my handlebars. This was a great tech tip as I couldn't get the back nut loose before, but with the crowfoot it was easy until the crowfoot fell off the end of the extension and into the engine compartment. So a 1 hour job turned into a 2 1/2 hour job due to having to take apart my sled to retrieve the 14mm crowfoot( couldn't retrieve with my magnet extension). So I used some gorilla tape to keep the wrench from falling off the end of the extension (advise you do to). Everything back together and aligned. I won't forget to use tape next time. Bought the MM crowfoot wrenches at Lowes as I like Kobalt tools.

I had something similar happen with a 10 mm socket when I was installing a hindle exhaust. Dropped it down behind the motor in the starter area. Took a video inspection camera , some gorilla tape and the stars to align to get that sucker out. Like you said , tear half the sled apart to get the dam thing. Everybody else thought it was funny but I sure didn't.

I hear you its not funny when you loose a bolt, socket, etc. and can't retrieve it with a magnet and have to take it apart to retrieve it. Especially when you thought it was a quick job and then Mr Murphy shows up to ruin it.

I bought a set of long neck metric wrenches at harbor freight and heated them with a torch and 90deg bent them into a custom crowfoot set. All the steering rods etc. are no problem now. Sometimes you want to offset more or less or a unique angle, just take a wrench and customize it.
