Using oil and wonding if anyone else has seen this?

I have 2800 miles on my sled and this is this is the first season I started using amsoil and put my mods on. I heard of people when they switched from yamalube to amsoil they used alittle oil but HOLLY CRAP!!!! For example this weekend I put on just over 200 miles and put just about a half a quart of oil. We also rode in abunch of fresh stuff and I thought I would see if there was abunch of oil in my airbox. It was hard to tell with all the ice build up on the foam in the airbox and ice in the tray.....has anyone with ulmers steath box noticed this.....This can't be good for the engine.

What do you guy's think?

Are you running amsoil as well?

my 07 rtx will use about half a quart every 1000 miles.
my sled is basically stock with only pipes.
i run pretty hard and fast and alot of off-trail pushing powder.

amsoil and yamalube, same effect

I heard of some of the RX-1 using oil, especially the 03 and 04 but I havn't heard any talk about the apex using oil. Mine is stock right now and uses no oil at all. I hope its the same next year with the yamacharger installed..............

So here it is......I call Allen at ulmer racing today and just thought I would pick his ear on this.....he hit the nail right on the head what happen here......we have been getting fresh powder around here like crazy.....so been playing in it lots......lots of snow build up and the filter froze up in the air box and sucks oil.....he said to resolve this there is a prefilter kit you get so this doesn't happen. I will try it and let everyone know if this worked.

My Attak does burn some oil. About 1/2 litre per 1000miles. Always ran yamalube.

I can not explain it but the day I installed the stealth airbox mod is the day it started burning oil. Ran the sled since new for ~2500miles without mod and no burning of oil. I have now put about 4000miles on the sled with the mod and have burned oil at a constant rate. Doesn't seem to be getting worse.

When I get a chance I will be removing the moded air box to see if it truly is this.

Anyone else have similar experience>

My 06 Attak with 11,000 miles uses about 1/2 quart per 1,000 miles. Mobil 1 0w-30 $23 for 5 quarts at wallmart. I do notice that if I check it cold it is always low, must bleed from the tank back down into the engine. I always try to check it now about 10 minutes after a good ride hot. Seems to make a big difference, especially if it sits for a week or so it always shows low.

1/2 qt per 1000 miles isn't anything. Like the man said above. If you work them hard they'll use it. All my 4 strokes did. Trucks that is. Running beaches on the Cape use to tax them good.
Mine used some as well but I'm a big guy and ride large hills,mountians.
When I'm rideing fairly level trails oil useage goes way down. I'm not concerend at all it run's so nice.
Did this with Yamalube,0-30 mobile 1 or 0-40 less with 40 Mobil 1

Man I hope Mine dosn't start to burn any... If I wanted to burn oil Id ride a 2 smoke... I think the e tek skidoo only burns a quart per 250 miles.. Sounds like some apexs are burning almost the same...

Sure, but don't forget that they only LAST 250 miles.....
