Valve Clearance issues @ 4K miles

My 2017 Viper started acting up last season after 3500 miles. It was hard to start when cold, idled poorly and would kill immediately if I touched the throttle. After 4K, it would not start at all without giving it a tiny bit of throttle until it warmed up. Dealer insisted the ECU flash would fix it, but I was very skeptical. Took the advice of other users here and had the dealer verify the valve clearance. All six exhaust valves were out of spec. Did I do something wrong to cause valve issues at 4K miles?

No. I am almost 100% certain some of these have valve clearance set wrong right at factory. There is no other explanation for the cases like mine where the one valve that still was in spec also had the smallest shim.

Hopefully it's fixed now and my starting woes are gone for at least another 4K miles

Mine starting doing that at 7500 miles, just out of the blue. Ran and idled good one day and remainder of season (all of March) i had to baby sit throttle to keep running in morning. I adjusted valves over spring months, Two exhaust valves were at about "0" clearance. Took time and did it myself, hopefully when cold it will start good. (I too had plugs and reflash done, with no help)

It started poorly again today. I backed up to my garage to pull the sled off the trailer to clean it up and put thos years trail passes on the windshield and it started poorly again. It was 33 degrees outside and the coolant temp also read 33 degrees. I turned the key and let the fuel pump run until it stopped. I turned it over for 6 seconds and nothing. I turned the key off, cycled the fuel pump again and then turned it over for 6 seconds, nothing. On the third attempt at about 3 seconds it back fired and started. I am very concerned about the back firing and its possible damage that can occur. Any suggestions?
