I have put 78 miles on mt 14 XTX and have a few issues i plan on bringing the sled back to the dealer to be addressed.
1. The sled is red and black with the red seat, The seat appears to be turning a pinkish color not bright red like i remember when i bought it. It is stored in the garage or an enclosed trailer so its cant be fading already. I haven't used any type of cleaner, wax or polish on the seat that may have "bleached" the color. Seems odd to me but i can assure you my non Yamaha friends sure do notice it and make sure they point it out every opportunity they get lol
2. My headlight doesn't work on low beam all the time. the issue seems to happen at random. I dont believe it is a bulb issue because they work sometimes and not others. High beams seem to work all the time.
3. After putting 40 miles on the sled i noticed the clutch got very noisy. Not sure if this normal but seems louder than every other Yamaha clutch ive ever owned by far.
4. Hot start issue at random. I understand this will/should be fixed with a reflash
5. Handwarmers dont seem to get very hot. I had on a pair of mechanics style Klim gloves and could barely feel any heat from them. The outside air temp was about 25-35 degrees. I assumed i would have to turn them off at somepoint. Left them on high all day long, grip was warm to the touch with a bare hand at several stops.
These are all minor issues and I am sure my dealer will get them all squared away. This is not a negative review whatsoever. I love the sled and i am very impressed with it. Just looking to see if anyone else has input on any of these issues.

I wonder if the headlight issue and handwarmer issue is related as the handwarmers on the viper get very hot. I can't use use high for very long as it burns my hands. Hopefully it all gets resolved for you.

I guess the noisy clutch issue is common. I figured something was wrong with mine but might not be after all.

agreed noisy clutch is common, i really notice it when engine braking after hard execration. I can't comment on your headlights but you should have your handwrmers looked at. Mine are scorching hot on high and pretty aggressive on low. Only time i use them is if we stop and go again, and thats riding in -30 C or lower......

The headlight issue could be the bulb. But losing two bulbs at the same time would be very rare. Do both lights go out at the same time when on low beam or is one of the bulbs going out?
The HI beam has its own filament as does the low beam. If a filament is broke, it will work intermittently when it contacts the hot post.

negative..... clutching on the cheap with 8DNYou guys with noisy clutch on deceleration still running stock clutch with original belt?
The handwarmers are an issue my right one went out then later both went out. I think they are in series an if the left one goes so does the right. They should get so hot you cannot use bare hands on them.

Please check your secondary spring for evidence of spring bind like paint off the coils.
