Hey...I posted this in the RS forum yesterday, but still haven't received a response. Doesn't appear to be as much traffic there, and I'm going to help my buddy on Thursday. Any help is appreciated!

Hey, can someone point me to a thread explaining how to change the oil on a Vector? I'm gonna help a buddy in a couple days and I've never done one before. I know it has to be easier than my Apex!!! Just not sure if I have to drain in a couple spots, ...

Thanks!

Yes,drain the crankcase and the oil tank. The filter and crankcase drain are both under the lower cover, much easier than apex/rx.Jay

Cool, thanks Jay!

I wasn't sure where to drain from since the side panels don't pop off like the Apex, and I haven't even looked at it yet...

Make sure the O ring on the old filter comes off when you change filter. Herd a few people forgot check and lost the oil down the trail :o|

That would suck also taking the right side panel off, those screws that hold that panel off are a pain to take out. Other than that the oil change is much easier compared to the apex's.

:yam:

Thanks anyway guys, but we already did it last night. Much easier than the Apex, but yes, we did have to take the right panel off (I didn't realize that till I got there last night). The bolts actually came out well on his...I stripped one on my Apex last year when I did it.

Thanks!
