Is it possible to eliminate the ski lift on a venture light 2007,cranked the front shock at max and lowered the limiter strap,it's better but it still lifts, your help is appreciated.

I have never eliminated it on my Phazer but tighter limit strap and putting all the ski spacers to outside helped alot.

You have both spacers on one side? Is the spindle right up against one side of the ski?

By front shock, do you mean the ski shocks or the front skid shock? I assume you mean you increased the preload? Wouldn't increasing the preload on any of those shocks (skis or front of skid) make the sled higher and stiffer with an even higher centre of gravity which would = even more tippiness and ski lift?
I have the same ongoing issue with mine and I have softened the front shocks (both ski and skid) and mine came with the limiter strap already fully tightened down - so it seems like Yamaha recognizes this as a problem. The mechanic told me I could put another hole in the straps and tighten them more but I have not done that.
Of course the ski lift is worse I think when riding 2-up with more weight and gear on the rear the weight is shifted to the rear. I also notice that mine bottoms out easily even with the blocks and 2-up adjustment turned up; so if I put on stiffer suspension springs to reduce the bottoming would that also reduce the ski lift by helping to shift the weight forwards I wonder?
Great ergonomics maybe, but the feeling of tippiness and ski lift is not good. Kinda reminds me of a dog always wantin' to cock up the leg for a pee (ahaha)!

yes i'm talking about the ski shocks,it did help a bit, some one suggested to me to try a nytro swaybar??BombaPolaYama said:yves F 7 said:Is it possible to eliminate the ski lift on a venture light 2007,cranked the front shock at max and lowered the limiter strap,it's better but it still lifts, your help is appreciated.

I have my ski shocks preload backed all the way off and rear torsions on low.In attempt to lower CG as much as possible without bottoming.
I also have the Nytro swaybar 15mm.The swaybar helped alot at speeds under 20mph after that it is just a high CG thing.Have watched the outside ski many times when inside ski lifts the outside one is not compressing. That means swaybar has done all it could but it isnt enough to prevent lift.Believe it or not standing slightly and pulling up on the outside stirrup helps along with the Ulmer clutch kit which for me decreased engine braking. If Venture handles like a Phazer it should never have been sold as a 2up touring or people are just going to have to take it easy in highspeed corners unless they want to give up the awesome suspension in the bumps.

I swapped out the stock skiis to a set of C&A's and hated the way it rode (Check my avatar)
Been trying a few other things and the best BY FAR to reduce the tippy-ness has been a set of Doo Precision Skis.
I am in love with the way it corners now!

I need to try those.Think about it.With that second bar way on outside edge it has to be like adding 2" to each side in width at least in the corners.

a minimum of +4" ski stance.....
That was my rationale!!!!!
It works wonders and it corners A LOT flatter than it has in the past....
Stability in the bumps is also greatly improved!!!

Ohhhh...
No more darting either!!!!!!
Really simple install, just swap a single bushing on the precision saddles....

Did you have to change the mounting kit or did the Ski-doo ski bolt right on? BTW, how wide is the precision ski and do you know if the Pilot 6.9 also has the double runners? I want to get a ski that well also help me with better floatation.
Thanks

From the Stock Phazer, I used the spindle bushing (goes through the ski spindle), the two outer bushings (one I think is 3/4" and the other is 5/8"), the two washers and the rubber dampner.
From the Precision ski,I had to punch out one of the bushings that are pressed into the aluminum plate and reinsert it backwards. From there, I used the Doo bolt and nut (same diameter) and away I went......
maybe 25 minutes start to finish, but the results will amaze....
