Hey guys I have friend with a 2008 Venture MP. It will start and idle fine but as soon as you touch the throttle it will die and sort backfire through the intake. The sled has had a complete new wiring harness installed, TORS have been switched, computer, dash pod, relays, everything electrical has new switched with a good running sled. He is stumped. Dealer couldn't fix it either. He suggested engine. But it starts and idles perfectly without a miss. Any help greatly appreciated

Weak fuel pump? What about the throttle position sensor?

My manual shows how to by-pass TORS. You follow the two wires from the bars and at some point they both are interrupted. One is male, other female, disconnect them from current position and join together. So easy to do it is worth a try.

I'd also try going into diagnostic mode and check throttle position sensor(TPS).

Neither of this is highly probable but easy to do and who knows what will show up. Good luck.

I don't think it's TORS. It only limits RPM without killing the engine. Flashes a code too. Worth a try to bypass just in case.
