Has anyone bought or used the Yamaha Belt Change Tool I have found for sale on the internet? Looks like it would make belt removal a lot easier but is it worth the cost? On my 06 Vector I could open clutch guard and open secondary clutch and remove belt. Not so easy on Viper. Any one have input on this tool? Thanks.

Not sure what tool you are talking about but the easiest way to remove belt is to push the helix and turn clockwise and use left hand to pull belt over sheave. That's if you are right handed and also make the sled is on the ground and not on dollies

If you go on the web site and click on the other Yamaha Belt tools they show it on the secondary clutch being used.

Yep, I purchased one for the Viper. Since its a tight fit in there because of the belt cover the tool makes it really easy to change the belt. I'll give two thumbs up...

I installed the viper tool from richmotorsports today. It was very easy to install. There is some resistance as expected, but definitely works.

A 10 mm wrench makes a good belt removal tool. Just put it on one of the helix nuts and turn clockwise while pushing in. And you already have one in your tool kit.

That's all fine and dandy but wait until you get a few more years on your fingers plus add a touch of arthritis to the mix and you'll figure $40 (or whatever the number is now) is WELL worth it......I even have one already and I can't remember what I paid for it..........

I have seen some of those aluminum ones with stripped threads. Make sure to put some grease or anti seize on there.

I had the same tool (but different diameter) on both my RX-1 and my RS Nytro and never had an issue with either.........I don't like to get grease anywhere even close to the clutches ;)

I bought the OSP adjuster at the begining of the season, but never installed it. Everything was running great, and I decided not to fix what was not broken. One of the benefits of the adjuster was supposed to be that it made changing belts easier. I now have gone through my first season with 2100 miles on the original belt, and it seems as strong as the first day I ran it. I am not the type to be making adjustments to my belt all the time, or trying belts other than stock on my sled, so which would be the better choice for making belt changes on the side of the trail, the OSP adjuster, or the belt change tool?

I have the belt change tool on the Vector LTX and have but not installed for the VIPER for some reason changing a belt seems so easy in the garage at 55 degrees or better but have had a few times when it was a struggle on the trail.
I do not have a need for the adjuster so can't comment. My 2 cents Yamadoo

If you ever change your mind remember the tools are different diameters for the Vector & the Viper........not interchangeable.......
