Viper BTX verses Sidewinder BTX

I looking at up grading from a 2011 Nytro XTX to a Sidewinder BTX. Probably 80% of my riding is in 2 feet of powder or so and about 20% is groomed trail. My thoughts are to upgrade to the Sidewinder turbo for a little extra power in the powder. I feel the Nytro XTX is good in the powder but the Sidewinder turbo would be better. The Viper BTX has the same motor as the Nytro but has the longer track. I know the Nytro motors are bullet proof. How good are the Sidewinder motors? Are they trying to squeeze out too much horsepower by adding a turbo?

I went from a viper mtx 153 to a sidewinder btx 153,I should have just put the turbo on viper mtx.You can probably pu a 2015 viper mtx ( good rods)with a turbo on it already at a reasonable price,I seen some on kijiji in canada with low mileage between 7-8k

It's a no-brainer. Go with the Winder. There were certain year Viper engines with rod issues. In addition, a viper can't be boosted as high without reducing the CR.
A sidewinder is capable of 260 with stock muffler and up to 300 with different muffler and a couple other mods. Engine reliability has been stellar.

If your power hungry, go with the winder and crank it up, but if plan on leaving it stock(not many people do) than a turbo viper is probably the better and cheaper alternative, snappier throttle response and a bit faster too than stock winder, not to mention about 30+#'s lighter, but than again I had the chance to ride a stock 16 viper mtx 153" and couldn't believe how light and nimble it felt, even compared to my turbo viper and I had a blast on it off trail, you gotta ask yourself what you're going to feel comfortable doing with it.

I had a nytro xtx and now have the Btx SW..... I don't find it any harder to throw around than the nytro off trail...

Went from a apex xtx to a sidewinder btx. Sidewinder is the sled to get. Install a stingray mods front shock spring in skid. Makes front end much lighter.
