Has anyone looked at chaincase internals or gears? are they yamaha quality or artic cat junk, I have heard there is lots of problems with cats gearcases, can anyone verifi this, I kind of like the sled, but im scared of the drivetrain, once it leaves the yamaha clutches.

I hear Yamaha is pushing for Yamaha gears and chain. It has Yamaha clutches so it has to have a Yamaha jackshaft. Lets hope it's Yamaha pieces in the chaincase

Hopefullu they will at least provide new internals. In my procross chaincase, I already replaced the chinese junk internals with Hyvo chain & gears, $600, a real jackshaft, $200+, & I still work about the case itself.

I asked the same question on the blog this morning here was the answer:

"It has our clutches belt and new jack-shaft, the rest of the system, chaincase to skid is AC, there are updates and changes from what is on the market today. I will update the specs moving forward..
cheers cr"

The drive train was/is a big question mark for me...
I know its a different chassis but my father T660's chain case leaves a lot to be desired.

But not backwards!

Arctic Cat chaincase...NO SALE!

The Procross chaincase is not bad. The major issue with it is the auto tensioner. Seemed like a good idea but i feel it is not. But the good news is that you can put the Snopro Cat manual tensioner on it. As for the reverse that issue has been resolved and is much better this year. IF yamaha had a servo motor on the apex or nytro to engage reverse they would have suffered the same issues. There is no feel on a lever for reverse. Some common sense is all that is needed to unsure that it keeps working. With the lever you can 100% tell if it is engaged in either direction. With the stepper motor you cannot. So i feel the problem lies with guys that just rod on the throttle right away after they push the button into either reverse or forward without confirming that it is indeed engaged. Also I don't forsee any belt issues on the viper as it has yamaha clutches which are proven to putting the power to the ground. Also the stiffer motor mounts that the nytro motor has will be a huge benefit. For instance the 1100t motor mounts are about as soft as jello. I will be upgrading mine this summer to harder duro.

These are my conclusions. I own a 2012 Proclimb(250HP Evo BIG TURBO) and am excited to see that nytro motor in the procross. Am a little confused on what either company is going to accomplish from this but I think we will know more when cat unleashs the 2014's. I feel as though that is why yamaha is being so tight lipped on the parthership.

I would not be to worried about it,i have the 13 procross turbo lxr and it is boosted, with 1300 miles now,and no problem with chaincase or reverse, not one problem other than first 300 miles, and 3 belts, now last 1000 all good.

Well how is this? I took the photo today at the show.

BTW, I asked and it is made by Cat as is the jackshaft, driveshaft etc.

Looks so,is. Interesting that cat made a jackshaft to fit the yamaha clutch. My guess this is to yamaha spec even if a cat made part.
