Mmmm........ I'm not sure if anyone would notice a 1 or 2 hp gain but I guess every little bit adds up if you are doing other mods.
I am thinking about adding the Push turbo kit and if I do then the spark plug mod will be a moot point.

I also installed the CR10EX plugs. I ran them in my Nytro. They say 1-2 HP.
Every little bit helps.
Changing plugs in the Viper wasn't too bad. I used a short 3/8th extension.
When I installed them I put the plugs in the end of a rubber hose. Started the plugs with the hose.
Then tighten with a socket.

I believe Ulmer Dynoed it.Why? Dont think it was ever established but slightly higher compression from extra electrode or better spark. Who knows but they are going in mine when time comes. They were in Phazer stock and I had 10000 mi on it before changing. Never fouled a plug. Will wait till convenient though. Forgot last time I had tank off!

So if there was an issue wih the ecu have guys gotten error codes come up for them or anything?I would suggest having the reflash done if you have not done it yet.
Some sleds have nore issues with the ecu than others. Sounds like you got a dud.

In an NGK plug the higher the number the colder the plug, so a 10 would be colder than the stock 9.
I would stick with the 9 but in a ek version.

Either one works, I had no issues with over 4000km in my viper last season. I put 10 in my fx nytro shortly after I purchased it in 08. The hp increase would not be noticeable but with the complete package exhaust clutch etc my nytro ran awesome and pulled like a freight train. Do what you feel comfortable with.

Well here's an update. Got the sled off the mountain today. Didn't change plugs, took a spare battery and hooked it up and levelled the machine off and if fired up right away. Heard a rumour about an oil pressure switch gives off a goofy reading when it's leaned over a little bit to the right. Anyone hear about that? Anyways crisis is averted (chopper bill)!!
No normally it will start for a bit then die. Maybe the plugs just got wet or even oil soaked from oil going into airbox. Sat long enough for it to drip off the plugs. Anyway glad you got it down!
