Thanks a lot man.. I'm getting stoked and it's still only august
Not until tomorrow.

Do they only have the blue and white like this one available on the mtx? I own a graphic print and installation shop so I'll have to wrap my own if so![]()
Have you tried www.yamahamotorsports.com
You'll find a lot more there than on snowmobiletrader.com
What the guys here are trying to tell you is that the DX models with coil springs tend to be more trail friendly than the Fox Floats on the SE and LE models. Much of the complaint I believe comes from the lower level Floats without the EVOL chamber.
As for the blue/white it appears to be available on the LE and SE models only. The biggest difference between the DX and the SE units is the front shocks so if you want your color buy the SE and if you don't like the shocks swap them out.

I don't know if it has changed from the 14 to the 15 models but I have an LTX se. I have actually been fairly happy with the float shocks on the front of the sled but they seem to be way off on the valving on the rear shocks. Way too stiff. Springs set to the lowest and never found it to bottom. The rear of the sled on the se models seems to be the bigger issue. Just my 2 cents.

Yes the rear shocks are very stiff. The floats work on the sled but until you get on one that has coil over front shocks and a good setup in the rear you won't know what you're missing. A buddy has a standard ltx, that sled rides so smooth and plush, honestly the best sled I've ever ridden period. Out of the box, he never changed a thing. You literally can't feel small bumps and it handles the big bumps every bit as good if not better than my ltx se. That's why I just went with the basic coil overs and got the rears valved properly cuz I'm just looking for plush
RTX is 129 track and LTX is 137
Hope this helps not sure what else you were lokingfor.
P.S. Turbo is add on accessory to MTX mountain sleds only. Some say it's available on the XTX 141"
Yes there is a turbo option (factory - dealer installed) for the XTX but it is the stripped down version and lacks the amenaties of the full 190 or higher HP kits. It still does not include the gauges that I would highly reccomend. The Turbo is awesome takes a normal sled and moves it to super sled class. The factory kit does not have intercooler and is mainly offered for sled ridden in higher altitude. You can put a MPI, Push or MCI on for about $5500.00 with everything you need to to run it safely and have kick A$$ HP and still not lose the warranty as long as the failure was not a rsult of the turbo or its installation.

Also you guys think for sure the RTx over the xtx ? I know it comes down to preference but all the input im getting and can get is helpful

2006 apex rtx
I looked at both the rtx and the ltx last year. I feel that i am a fairly aggressive trail rider and was really struggling with the decision between the rtx-ltx.
the deciding factor for me was i was afraid the ltx would not fit in my trailer.
As far as rough trail riding goes, i think i made the right choice. This thing takes some bumps and jumps like you just cant believe. Coming off an apex i was quite impressed with the big bump performance of this sled.
Dependent on your weight you might find the suspension kind of stiff.
Im 240 with all my gear on and have not bottomed the rear skid yet.
My sled only has about 450 miles on it but overall im happy with my choice of the rtx
If it was my choice, i would get the 2015 Rtx-le in blue and white. I like the shock package and overall its just an awesome looking sled

I have an XTX and on the trails it is a handfull. If you are going to ride trail and play a bit off I would recomend the LTX or 137". I have ridden all 3 and feel the 137" is the best all around. the 137" is 8" longer track but if you look at the way the track is looped around in the tunnel it is actually less than 4" of actual additional footprint but does feel more planted on choppy trails. The XTX is uncoupled and is much harder to get balanced and there is no ski pressure as long as you are on the throttle. So it pushes badly on fast corners. You can ask YamahaTim, my sled is 2 to 3 times harder to steer with the same amount of front ski bite. The short track is not bad and would be a lot more like the old 121" sleds we used to ride. I have only ridden the shorty without a turbo and it is hard to compare the feel of that sled to the others with turbos so the shorty comes up a little bland in my experiences on it and I have no idea how they were setup but were a bit firm feeling for me on the trails we were riding which were extremely rough.
My XTX and the LTX's I have ridden on really rough trails soak up the bumps a lot better in my opinion. This chasis is extremely rigid and has no flex in the turns. There is no ski lift and stays very flat in the turns. In my opinion the Fox floats don't help get any feel or feedback which I like. If I had it to do over again I would do a 137" with coil over resevior clickers all the way around.
I installed an MPI 190 turbo and evol rc2 shocks up front then blew the motor and rebuilt it with carillo rods, wiseco low compression pistions and upgraded the wastegate to get to 12#'s of boost. I have way too much $$$ in mine to sell it and start over again so I am installing Hygear coupling system in the rear and installing an AXIS coil over shock to get the rear end to work on the XTX.

Oh I def. do haha I also don't have 25k to put into a sled haha
LE models were spring only so unless you can find a dealer that bought stock and is willing to sell one you'll only find SE models or DX models.
