Re: seperate lines
I think I'll believe the guy who lives 45 minutes away and drinks beer with guys that work at the plant. Or maybe works there himself?

Re: seperate lines
There is only 1 sled line at Thief River falls.
The same crew that builds the kittys will build the vipers.
No worry, they're gonna be an awesome sled

More unverifiable info: Went to the Sneak Peek in Blaine, MN on Friday. Spoke to YMC Rep who says the Viper won't even go into production until October. That's a pretty small window of time to build these sleds IMO.
Speculation on my part, but given the above, Yamaha's supply agreement with Cat could stipulate that Cat gets to build their sleds first and Yamaha sleds go on the line after Cat's 2014 line is complete. But who really knows.
One thing about attending the Sneak Peek - It was perfect opportunity to sit and stand on each model from all four makers ... all within seconds of one another ... and while it's not the same as being able to ride each model, IMO the Viper still had the best ergos of any sled (equivalent Cat models excluded). I know this is subjective, but I did also demo ride the Viper, and so I think it's going to be a good sled if Yamaha manages to make it reliable using Cat parts. I do hope for the best, as I think this sled would be a good fit for me and my riding style.

With all the conflicting statments coming from Yamaha Reps/Dealers you have to wonder if they were all at the same introduction. Or are they all just salesmen who will tell you whatever they think you want to hear.
Re: seperate lines
That sounds about right a side line going down it to meet yamaha s specifications Which means more jobs for Americans which is downright great at this time yamaha pairing up on a project is nothing short of great for the whole industry2lapsdown said:It is still a free country. I spoke to an Arctic Cat corporate employee last week and he told me AC was going to build 10k Cats first then the Yamahas. He would have no reason to lie...........
