i have a 2015 sr viper ltx se . Where do you adjust the rear coupler . I loosened the rear shock to soft as I only weigh 160 pounds but what else can I do to make it softer . Want to set it soft for drag racing . Thanks for the help

I had everything loose on mine and still had to revalve my shocks to get rear to squat. The LTX se has a coupled suspension as the xtx has uncoupled. Right in front of the rear bogeys there 2 plastic blocks people been removing them from the rod to get more transfer. Hope this helps you out

This. On my overly stiff 2014, I revalved both rear shocks and removed the two plastic coupler block from the shaft to get max transfer. It is worlds better now.

1704-354/355 are the springs I'm running, huge improvement and softer than stock.

BTW. That's a Cat part #

I removed my block's also, this squats and Wheelie's like an xtx now.

So do you just remove the complete shaft then or just the couplings . I just want it to hook up and do some transfer for some drag racing .dont want a wheelie monster . What would be a good setup for drag racing then .thanks

Remove the shaft , take the block's out and put the shaft back in, also the shaft has a flat spot where the block's were, try to align the flat spot so that when the suspension compresses , it touches the shaft on the flat areas, you check very easily with a straight edge.

If your drag racing on ice you will need a lot of ice picks.

bleedyyamaha is right lots of ice picks , traction is most important if your drag racing , last year I put on 6 & 4 pattern with 1.625 ice chisels dragging on hard ice. Didn't spin one bit ran away from all the 800's an f-1000 and even a zr 9000. ulmers performance package with hindle along with both clutches machined in od with his set up for best possible quarter mile set up. Everyone thought I was turboed. all others had minor mods. was able to go vertical from stand still and hold it up for good 75 yards had to tighten up limiter straps couple holes to help with crazy wheelies. 14 rtx by the way , not sure how the ltx skid is if it's the same or not. What are you using for traction?

i am racing on snow ,not ice .but thanks for the help .okay so take the 2 black couplings off the shaft and loosen the rear shock to soft and what else .there are also 2 black square pieces around the torsion spring ,can you adjust those too .thanks for the help

Yes. Just turn the block to the thinnest spot on the block. You should have a tool in your tool kit that fits it. Simply turn it to your desired position.

not to high jack the thread but how well do the sleds work uncoupled in the trail?

Just need to drive the sled vs riding it! Coming of a Phazer and riding dirtbikes its how I have always ridden and the way I taught my kids to ride. Lot of rider input all the time even on smooth. I believe getting used to hanging off, moving forward, backward and throttle and brake control gives you a little room for correction when that Oh #*$&@ moment happens and it always does. If you want to go a step further remove the Swaybar and setup suspension for it. Always thought about trying that myself. Getting old though.

can you post a picture of tool to adjust it .i didn't get tools with my sled for some reason .also on my nyto the black torsion spring adjusters have a s for soft and m for medium and h for hard .its on m now .the viper ltx se doesn't have the letters on it .can it be adjusted .thank you for the help
