Just left D&D they did some dyno runs with the viper. Best run I seen 137 but there was a quick drop around 8800 on that one. The best consistent run showed 136 hp which is better than the 7000 by 4 hp and even a little better than the nytro. The nytro on D&Ds dyno was 134hp so that takes care of any myth about the poor stock exhaust setup on the viper.

I have no idea where some of these pics come from. I've never seen that pic before and it is nowhere to be found in my photo gallery. When u click on the picture does the dyno sheet show up? It does for me

My clutching is set up for the 8800-8900 range. Seems to have the best et times in that range. One setup actually ran it at around 9100 and it was still fast there. Hit the rev limiter a few times but it was still fast. Sounds like it's a pretty broad range where you are gonna gain

Sounds like you are clutching for all the under the curve power and trying not to go over. Sounds good, I like real data to go by.
Thanks for all your detailed reports.

Will be interesting to see how the yamaha reacts to performance mods. So far the 7000 has reacted well to the exhaust mods. Let's hope the viper is the same way

Looks very nice. Interested to see how it reacts to the quiet can and other mods. Also would like to see some db numbers on the can although I agree with you; if you are not an idiot I don't think they will bother you unless it's real loud. May have to head out to the Shootout to check things out. It will be interesting to see what Dynotech gets next week. I assume it will be lower as their sleds are not really broken in as is yours..

If they have time D&D is hoping to get a new viper on the dyno before the Shootout just to see if their clutch kit is going to gain by going on a stock sled with 0 miles. I'm sure a new one will be less but prolly not enough to make a huge difference

Has anyone from D&D said if they plan to have sleds there with any mods, of even just the exhausts? I have not been in a few years, years ago there was nothing in the way of vendor displays. Once in a while there is something in the parking lot of interest? Thanks again for all the updates.

I sure they will have some mod turbos there. As for the viper I am not sure on that. I'll will suggest possibly having my viper there with the clutch kit and whatever else may happen with it between now and then lol I don't think there is much if anything there for vendors but it would be nice to have a viper there that people can see and hear run that has an exhaust on it atleast and maybe be able to get some times to show how it comes to stock.

You work for D&D or is it a family member or something?? You sure talk them up a lot... maybe you should talk them into running an ad on Totallyamaha... now that would be great!!
