Yes the sled keeps getting faster every day. First full out run I did could only get 85 mph. That was at about 15 miles. Now at 65 miles it's already hit 100. Today was perfect conditions for speed. Field had 2 inches of real hard pack and it about 15 degrees out so they all ran good..as for the husky, if I had even half the energy the dog has I wouldn't be hittin the scales at 225 lol works out good for both of us cuz I like to ride the sled and she'll run next to me for a couple miles everyday. That's how I got the wife convinced that the sled was a good idea to get so that I can exercise the dog lol
Nice! Always loved those Huskys do you have a team of them?

I just have 1 female. Just sold 5 of her puppies she just had within the last month. Friends have a few of them tho so we do team them up on the sled. It certainly isn't the same kind of rush as launching the viper but u get 4 of them dogs harnessed up and let them loose it's a pretty sweet feeling. My female is the fastest of the group she is able to run beside me on the snowmobile for about a mile and a half at a steady 22mph. Awesome dogs just loads of energy
Cool. Always wanted to try that.

Your belt temps seem kinda high compared to the sheeve temps, whenever my belt temps were that high my primary sheeve was lower by about 30 degrees, did you check the belt at the outter most part of the belt, where they generally come apart,as I found last year on my boosted turbo that area would be much hotter than the lower part of the edge where it tapers down, also my primary was always hotter by at least 30* too, glad you guys got to do some running, what kind of gun do you have?mnmsnowbeast said:Studroes144 said:Had to look back at my video for temp numbers here they are:
Viper:171 belt
104 secondary
118 primary
Xf7000: 193 belt
123 secondary
120 primary
We did 6 back to back wide open runs and came back and pulled covers off right away to test. The 260hp turbo had a belt temp of right around 240 if I remember right.
The temps were taken on the sheave of the primary on both sleds and then they were taken on the outer part of the secondary. Just wanted to shown an exact comparison between the yammi and cat clutches. We also waited for roughly 1 min and the temps on the yammi dropped off by 20 degrees on the belt, primary and secondary. The temps on the cat hardly cooled down at all.

That was actually me riding the cat in that vid. We were hoping with my extra weights that I could hook up and jump out on the viper to shows how fast it will run the cat down but I couldn't even get a jump on him. If u listen close u can hear he backed off for a bit to let me catch back up. Very impressed by the viper!

They could always put Yamaha clutches on and see how that works!
That would be interesting to try.

Primary would fit right on. Change the jack shaft and the secondary will prolly work too. I'm sure there will be someone that does it before the end of the season. Got an update today on clutching on the 7000. Gained a lot of speed and good mid range but still revving a little too high on top end. Will be fun to see how it compares with the stock viper. Should know by early this week

If both are stock I'll bet the Nytro walks away...I'll even bet that a Vector will beat a stock Viper. Don't laugh my wife's Vector stuck with my stock Nytro from start to finish around a mile on Gogebic in perfect conditions. That's why I put a turbo on my Viper. Granted I fixed up my Nytro to keep up with any stock or slightly modded 800 out there, but it costed a lot of money so I said screw it I'm getting a turbo and won't have to worry!

Maybe we should put your wife on one instead of you
Thats not actually funny my EX is a hell of a lot faster than me cause she did not know she shouldn't be able to go that fast but she has endoed 2 of my sleds in the past, my Apex GT only had 245 miles on it before I had to replace the entire headlight pod, hood and left body panel Casue of her.
This is the 1st one she did - "Whiskey Bottle, New sled, Oak Tree Your in MY Way" or - " I fought the tree and the tree won"

Oh by the way that 2000 I fixed that sled and kids rode it untill last season. I just gave it away to a needy family for their son it has 18,365 miles on the original track, motor and suspension. That was the best sled I ever owned as far as dependability. After the crash I drove it home 20 miles with no hood or exhaust on it. After fixing it it acted like nothing ever happened.
