Currently riding a 13 vector and really like the sled. I'm sold on the power steering. Corners much better thatn the nytro I ran last year.

I am tempted to try a viper and wandering if anyone has made the switch from an EPS vector to the viper and what their comments are.

It really depends on what kind of rider you are. My wife has a Vector and for Just trail riding the Vector is hard to beat. Nothing will turn as easy as EPS. Now if you do anything besides trail riding than the Viper is a great sled. I ride them both and the Vector is not EPS, but still steers easy. And the Viper is not as comfortable as the Vector is on the trail. But I have mine set up pretty stiff. Standing of off trail the Viper wins hand down! My wife wants a regular Viper LTX. So with a little more forgiving suspension set up will be a more plush ride and less aggressive than the SE. Should be perfect for her. She wants to make the change.

I have both sleds right now(14 Viper & Vector). In my personal testing the steering efford is very similar. The only difference that I have noticed is at higher speed. Since the EPS drops out at higher speeds the easy handling stays with the Viper. To be honest the difference is hard to notice since you don't make too many steering adjustments at high speeds.

Since I'm a larger than average rider another draw back I can give on the Viper is my rear get cold from track spray. I'm planning on installing the tunnel flares from Cat.

How does viper corner in comparison to the vector?

I have both sleds. 13 Vector and 14 Viper LTX. I have tuner skis installed on both sleds. If you are on smooth flat trails nothing will out handle or ride the Vector with EPS. Add in 10 inches or so of chop and the Viper will walk away from it. Steering effort is similar on both sleds. But the EPS removes any and all feedback through the handlebars even at full speed. Once you learn to trust that the skis are still in front of you this makes for some awesome all day riding. You can stand and play much easier on the Viper. The tuner skis have made my Viper turn as good as any sled out there.

In the end riding style is what should make the decision, this is why Yamaha offers both. Smooth hard all day riding is Vector. Snow storm snow banks not groomed for three days and the Viper is amazing!!!

I my personnel opinion I think they corner the same at normal trail speeds. High speed sweeping corners go to the Viper but not a dramatic difference maybe 25% better. I should note that I run the same Curves skis on both sleds.
