and the stock 'arm' locations on the shorty are ok with it extended to 144?

If you look at the new Mono 2 Design 128 and 136, there is no diff other then the rail length. So in theory it works. I extended one 2 years ago and I think Gravedigger is still riding it.

I ride like a old lady so it suits me. Lol. Never rode it 121 but rides just fine 136 and 144

I have been told the geometry deal on every sled I have ever extended. If you have patience knowledge of your skid and aren't afraid to ask questions you will be fine. I've taken 121 02 viper to 136 and 144 Rode fine. Took 05 warrior 136 to 144 then changed it to a Polaris pro 121 to 144 rode fine with no action rode great with prox. 07 apex 121 to 136 when my buddy had it said it rode better 136. I took it to 144 rides even better yet.
