Want more pep

I was riding with a 2015 800 E-Tec this past weekend... it was still in the break-in period and was hands down the quickest (and fastest) thing on snow that I have ever ridden. I have a hard time seeing how any non-boosted Apex could catch it in a drag race. That being said, I would still take my Apex any day over it though.

It sounds like the 2015 800 ETECS are stronger then previous years. My Non Boosted Attak can handle the 3 800 ETEC Renegades[2013 x 2, + 2014] I ride with, both in a drag race and top end.

Pretty quick I have to say but we'll see how fast it is after 10000k lol

Mine is the 15 xtx and for now it is all stock,it pulls hard down bottom all the way to the c note than creeps to 113 or 109 gps,no studs yet either,i was hoping for moore top end,my old 07 rtx right out of the box no studs would run 112 gps same snow conditions as mine did today, and my xtx now has 1100 miles on,when my 07 ran 112 it had 400 miles on the clock, but this sled is so sweet in so many ways,it just sits head and shoulders above al my other apes.

Lose some weight >Your body weight< idk if your overweight just saying, im always the lightest in the group (at times at LEAST 100lbs lighter) up to 150lbs ,my buddies are over weight and just bigger guys.. and i take off like a scared rabbit and you cant reel me in ! Buddies 13 e-tec 800 r-Motion 137 was the closest but no cigar ! sorry James he just blew it up at 5700mi.. at dealer with a piston seizure/failure ..was a very nice machine but---he is thinking about a Yamaha ,will see

I'm way ahead of you lost 10 lbs already in an attempt to stop the machine from bottoming. I'm 210lbs now.

Hey Murse, so your is a 2011 right? Is the rear suspension actually much better than the EC Ohlins? It sounds like you still have a lot of bottoming issues? Crazy how they can't build a rear suspension. It sounds like the xtx is the way to go but they are just heavier once again!
I feel like a girl when I am forced to show down for bumps. My brain is saying let's go but sled says no.

Don't get me wrong the stock 2011 suspension is way better than my 06 with twisted spring kit. Its plush and takes studder bumps and small to medium bumps well at speed. It just bottoms on the big ones. Simple revalve or a different spring for my weight will do the trick. I'm 210lbs no gear. The sled handles flat and is way better. I think my exup is out of adjustment but I'm getting a new track now at the dealer and they are adjusting exup as well as a tune up. We'll see how it goes after that. I'll finish the season and install ulmer clutch kit and shock revalve for next season.

How much sag does your sled have now,are the torsion springs turned up on high or med,i tried mine one on high and one on med,to see if I could get more ski pressure, and it did,but I did not like how it was bouncy bouncy over the littelist bumps,so I set it back to min,and it still handles ok,and rides much better,so I drilled another hole in each strap, and sucked it down more, but now I have lost most of its fun transfer. Oh ya I am 196 before I suit up,so most likely at least 210 riding.

Murse you mentioned twisted spring kit. Is that the variable rate from hygear? Do you recommended going that route on my 07? I am thinking about it for next year.

He is on a 128 mono, not an xtx.

Oh,well I guess he cant turn the torsions up than, maybe adjust the clip on the mono spring.

The Twisted spring on th 06-07 is the best! I bought and installed that on my old 2006 and it was the best setup. I also had the stage 2 ulmer clutch kit and it all worked well. I am going to get the clutch kit and do the twisted spring kit from hygear in the off season. I want to keep this sled for another 3-4 years I think that will be the best setup give me good bottom control and small to medium stuff as well as more pep with the clutch kit. More get up and go and mid range.

So is there much difference with the kit? I raced the 15 etec again today and he still got me out of the whole and I can't pass him. I think my EXUP is out. I am still thinking hard about the clutch kit for next season.
well I guess this question should be asked, what is your top end rpms,if you are all stock clutched, and have more than say 200 miles on it,you should see 10,000 as soon as you squeeze the trigger, than 10,500 shortly after that, than it should creep to 10,800 as long as you run past 100 speedo,if you are not running at least 10,500 rpms that is why you are not going good.

I see 10500 consitently I have 185 km/h pretty much top speed on a road with 1 inch of snow and consitent 160km/h on groomed trail. Seems on par with other Apex's. My buddies 15 etec is getting a little more top end and better launch than my Apex consistently. Bottom end torque is where I think this clutch kit will help and where I need it in a drag race.

I am getting a new track and studs with Exup adjustment as well seld is back on Tuesday so maybe that will be my solution and I won't want the clutch kit anymore. We'll see tuesday.
