Want to cut some weight on my XTX

The wife got me on a diet so if I gots to lose some weight then so does the nytro.

Looking for ideas on mods that will help trim my sled. Hoping it will keep my mind off my own misfortune of having to eating right and be healthier! LOL!

Links to lighter nytro products/ parts that can help will be greatly appreciated.

A light exhaust you can cut 9 to 12 pounds. A timber skid can cut a lot. How much are you looking to spend.

X2 and it will fell light to. I know when I SC my apex mtx it fells 100 pounds lighter.

Turbo is out of my price range right now. Exhaust and skid are doable. I read somewhere about light weight battery. Anyone know of a site that has a light weight battery?

I used the R1 gel batery from Yamaha and it has worked great for about 4 years

I shaved 50lbs off of mine and noticed a big improvement in off-trail/mountain riding!
The Timbersled rear skid and ice age rails makes up the biggest chunk of reduction. The stock XTX skid weights 74lbs while the Timbersled skid and rails weight in at only 36 to 38lbs depending on if you use 2 or 4 wheels at the rear axle.
For long hyfax life (no boggie wheels) I run Hyper-fax and ice scracters.

I'm with bottlerocket. Dump the stock silencer. I think the Ultra Q (and many others) shaves at least 10+ lbs. I think my Yoshi weighs about 3 lbs so it saves around 15lbs, and with the low volume insert in, it is the same DB as the Ultra Q I had in before. Both are good options.

I put 7" Slydog Powderhouds on and that's probably another couple of pounds, and then the sled willl actually turn.

I've just got the Skinz seat and it seems lighter than stock as well, although no numbers to confirm that until I get it installed.

The skid is definitely an issue but high $'s.

The skinz seat is 6.5 Lbs, I don't know what the stock setup weighs. I love my skinz seat. The battery is a good way to drop some weight as well. I cheaped out on mine and so far I have had no complaints. It was like 60 bucks from bikebats.com I have had no problems starting at -20. I will get the specs off it tonight.
