Want to fix your handlebar grips for only .14cents each?

What size washers? They don't show the hooks in the parts catalog and my sled is 3 hours away.

Got the micrometer out and the outside dimension is .685 of an inch (5/8 of an inch would be close enough) and the inside is .258 ( 1/4 will do)
And I cant see where the spray foam would help it might just send the heat to the alum. hook like a giant heat sink ...... I'll be only using the washers,I would try the washers first if you need something different then try foam if you do the foam first you can't remove it...Just my 2 cents worth

Heat rise's and the hook points down is one reason and it is sticking out in the cold air is the other.

You really need 4 washers. One for the inside of the hook and a much smaller one for the cap bolt where it contacts the hook itself. When the threaded bolt is tightened it conducts heat up to the hook down the bolt. On my SXR-700 I added the alum. bar ends and I ended up with a washer setup like this and I put tape around the bolt so it would not touch the bar end. Doug

the hex bolt is also transferring the heat out.. if you ever want to bake a potatoe fast insert a piece of copper wire into each end and presto.. done in half the time... Get the picture,,, the bolt works like a probe and desipates the heat away from the bars..

Good luck on the spray foam...unless the thing you thread the bar hook bolt into is threaded all the way through, then you could shove the nozzle of the spray foam through it. Best not try.
In other words, when you take the barhooks off, and look into the ends of the bars, they aren't hollow!

My buddy has a 05 600 rev he rode last year with no warmer issues, this year he installed hooks and his hands are now freezing I told him the same thing that the hooks are sucking all the heat from the grips.

i installed the nylon washers yesterday and they helped alot...i think the washer under the bolts would help even more..ill get some for the bolts next..

Isolating the bar ends is the ticket. My friends with other brands have the factory installed bar ends that are add ons,not one piece, their warmers are hot and the ends are cold. It's not a big deal with the cold ends because your hands are mostly on the straight part of the bar anyways.

King, do you understand that regardless, these grip warmers on the Apex/Attacks are NOT anywhere close to being as warm as previous generations of Yamahas.

I put nylon washer under screw now and stuck 3 layers of elec tape on end of bar hook,to isolate the bar hook from bar...gonna try this later...hoping it helps

Just out of curiousity, I wonder how many Warrior/RX-1 owners liked the "cool" (low) windshield and put it on and now have cold hands?
