I have an Hjc right now, and it leaks so much through the glass seal it gives me a headache.. I'd like to get a nice helmet that keeps my face warm! Any suggestions on what the best helmets out there are?
Thanks Eric
Thanks Eric
I have been riding with the Arctic Cat TXi for the last couple of years and love it...I have the all black one so it doesn't have any Cat stuff all over it. It never fogs and has a little visor on it for sunny days. This year I'm trying a MX style wit goggles.

I have had great luck with the skidoo modular helmets over the years. I was going to buy my third but my size was back orderd. This year I will be trying a Gmax helmet, has breath deflector, rear taillight, heated shield and sunglasses that role back into the helmet itself. They can even be left down when the shield is up or the jaw is up.
liner looks to be pull out. sizes seem to be similar to skidoo as I take a xxxlg in both. only down side so far is no quick connect for strap, need to purchase separately.
I mostly used a modular because of the sunglasses and hadn't found a brand that made an as good or better version. This is 250 for the heated shield version so it is 100$ less

BV2S will be hard to beat for the issue you mention. Warmest helmet I've ever owned.

i've been using a CKX modular the past 2 seasons and it has very little leakage and doesnt fog if you use the breath guard. fit and finish is excellent and the price was right.

I have heard this is a really warm helmet. Almost too warm if your an aggressive rider. I have had the Doo modulars is the past and only beef I had was messing with spit box. I hate that thing. Also my breath ports would freeze up on really cold days and I would suddenly find myself not able to breath. Had to stop and unclog it. Plus the new one is flat out ugly.
I'm running a HJC and it's been a great helmet but it's not the tightest out there. I happen to try a new one on @ one of the shows this year. It was a Zoan "Runner"
It was modular and made by the same company who makes GMAX. I have to say it was one of the best helmets I have ever tried on. The only drawback to this helmet was the slide down sun visor. It would not come down all the way and it seemed to stop right in the line of sight. If it were not for that I would have bought the helmet. Talked to the distributor rep that was there and he said he had heard this complaint before. He followed up with me via e mail a few weeks back that they are revising the helmet for next year to correct this. It was such a tightly sealed modular helmet. This will definitely be the next helmet I try out.

BVS2, warmest, quietest, easiest to use helmet I ever had! The breath moisture collection pad needs to be squished dry occasional when you stop!
I never spit in mine so its just condensation water from breathing. If your always spitting in your helmet, well stop it!
It does not freeze up like the old ones. As far as ugly goes hey thats a personal thing. Fighter pilot, Darth Vader type helmet!

BV2S by far the best I have had, actually own two of them now!
I quit using the pads after about two trips, it is just condensation that runs out? If it is bad yank it off the mount and bring it to the bathroom and rinse it with warm water in the sink!
If it is to warm crack the shield and it cools you off in seconds.

GMAX new modular looks great. I've had 2 Gmax's and both worked well. HJC and CKX also have good products IMO.

Doo modular, sham wow insert, love it.
The BV2S is an awesome helmet for some people. It either works great or you hate it. It takes some adjusting to get that breath box pressed right against your face and it doesn't always fit nicely for everyone.

I have all three- BV2S, Mod2 and motocross style open (Klim F4) w. goggles. They all have their place. Although I don't find myself using the Mod2 that much any more since I got the BV2S. If warm is what you want, then the BV2S is the ticket, but if you ride aggressively or are offtrail a lot, it'll be way too warm. I find I wear the Klim the most and just adjust what I wear under it to suit the conditions.
