Just realized - you guys might be talkin canadian prices - I am throwing out U.S. dollars.
Yep, CDN.
And BTW: Things are worth what you can get for them, so if you CAN find a sucker to give you 20k (I know, thats a REAL stretch, even for the stupidest sucker), then its worth 20k. Thats competition.

This is the best info to make a stock no action skid work. Do exactly these setting and then fine tune from there and you will love the way this thing rides. But you need a 12mm or 13mm bar with the 05 links and 230# st. rate springs to really make it handle flat with alot less ski lift.

I have the sway bar links. I wish I wasn't so technically inept. I need to hand the sled to someone, pick it back up and be done with it. I do feel however after reading the thread you linked that there is a hope I may enjoy this thing after all. I really don't want to go to a Ski-Doo.

Bop, absolutely you will enjoy this sled, but what you DONT want to do is just give your sled to somebody a be done with it. There are so many small adjustments that are easy to do but if you dont do them yourself you will not know how to customize that sled to YOU. You need to make an adjustment, ride, adjust, ride. Before you know it your sled will handle real good. Just make sure you get yourself a NICE spanner tool (I have two) to adjust you springs. It makes things alot easier.

I just sold my 03 for $5000.00 been for sale all fall and winter......started out at $6000.00.

Sled is going in the shop tomorrow. Couple of guys are going to help me make these adjustments. I'm glad I went through this with you guys as I really didn't want to get rid of it. I'll post with the results!! Thanks again to everyone.

My brother has a MXZ 700 REV, yeah he was faster on the rails and rough trails, but the second we hit the groomed trails, it was all done. Those Rev's are great for hitting rough trails, but on good gromed trails they have too high of a center of gravity and fall behind. I ride 90% groomed trials and love the RX-1. If I were a ditch-banger that rode the rough trails all day, I would have bought a sled for that. They each have there pros and cons.

I just got my 03 RX-1 ER with 312 miles for $4800 USD ($5600 CAD) but had to talk the dealer down from $5200 USD ($6100 CAD). Good thing we had a crappy winter.

Hey Bop, just make sure you do the majority of the work so when you are by yourself, you will know exactly what you are doing. Its always fun working on your own stuff especially when sombody else is telling you what to do and why.

Just sold mine 03 Rx1 w/ 3000 miles to someone local for $4500 US. Very happy new owner and very happy x-owner. Watching these things not sell very well on ebay had me concerned a bit. Now, do I go get that brand new 07 Baja Outlaw 26 or a Attak gt? I think I hear the water melting. Lets see how the 08's look on the 25th.

I'm thinking about upgrading to an 07 attak gt. Is it safe to assume that you can't get a low price on a new sled with a trade-in? Is it also safe to say I can get more for it selling outright compared to the trade in?

sd just read my last post. There is no way you will ever get even close to $4500 for an 03 RX on trade. You might get $2500 if your lucky. :ORC Sell it outright and remember, "DETAIL FOR RETAIL". Buying something used that is cleaner than what it was new makes for big bucks in your pocket and a happy buyer. That way everybody is happy. Also maybe consider taking off some of your extras on the machine and put it back to stock. Then you can sell the good stuff to somebody that will appreciate it.

OK please dont hate me for this but I have to disagree with you LB. It depends on the trails you are riding on what type of sled you should have. I have an 03 RX changed out the Pro for a Skidoo SC10 III added 2" of foam to the seat revalved the Doo shocls for my weight and riding, heavy springs. All of that work and its almost a crappy sled on bad trails. I love this thing more than anything on the trails up north 16' wide flat and groomed this thing rocks with all of the perfomance stuff I think I can take a stock Apex or Mach. Its when we get into the not so well groomed trails that it becomes aparent what the sled lacks. I am too cheap to buy a new sled so I am going to try 4 more inches of foam in the seat. Basically I sit to low and it is to much of a work out to pull my fat arse up off the seat on the crappy trails to make it any fun at all. Your arms feel like crap because you are tightening up on every bump waiting for that #*$&@ banging big bump. I think more foam will put me up higher so its not so akward to get off the seat. The only thing I can say for him is Doo is not the only one with rider forward. I rode an Apex and it too puts your legs under you so you can pick yourself up easily I liked it better than the Rev because its not quite so aggresive as the rev style. I thought the Mach also is a little less aggresive riding position. The Rev just seemed like to much. The new Mono is a huge improvement over the proaction and the seat on the 05 (before Apex) is somewhat higher but if you r going to go that far get an Apex get the best of both worlds 4 stroke and rider forward new mono supension is great and its better looking LOL

Some extras don't get the appreciation they deserve either.
