I am replacing my motor with a used motor and I was going to replace the water pump. My question is I was looking it up in the yamaha parts finder and from what I can see u can't just buy a water pump, they sell all the parts to make one, so should I just replace the impeller while I have the motor out?...thxs guys

Your correct, you just need to buy the parts that are integrated into the block. I would do the seals but i have NEVER been able to get one seal, I have always had to take it to the dealer to get them to seal right. I'm not sure what the trick is. Was teh WP leaking on the new engine? Otherwise I would leave it alone.

Well on the replacement motor somehow they cracked the housing, and the waterpump I have on the orginal motor has 11,000 miles on it. I was just thinking about replacing it before I put it back in. I will take it apart and look at it...thx Kinger
