Weight Savings

You'd think there would be many more options out on the market like this considering this is one of the main issues with all Nytros?? My XTX over heats all the time on the trail. Lucky for me 90% I'm off trail.

This year , I have got to do something to stop the build-up of snow/ice under my tunnel. Every time I ride I'm carrying around an extra 25lbs. After two seasons with no studs , I think I'll start by removing the tunnel protectors.

A 12"x 24" inch sheet of aluminum from Menards or Lowes fits perfectly as a block off plate with a slightly angled slat for the exhaust. The sheet cost me $14.00 at Menards. Highly recommended. ;)!

You've got my attention with the alum sheet. What was the thickness of it and do you install it on the top or under side? And I still have the stock exhaust. Sounds like this could be the best $14 ever spent.

.025 Guage. It mounts to the bottom side of the tunnel due to the lip on the top side of the tunnel. I'm pretty sure it's just standard 304 Aluminum. I riveted mine in. You're going to do some measuring for your exhaust. I have a Hindle exhaust and am not sure if the angle of the exhaust would be the same as stock. Well worth the $14 and it only took about 1 hour. I did mine with the track in the sled so the front rivets were a little tricky.

FYI: I guess Lowes doesn't carry the 12"x24" size anymore. It can still be found at Menards though.
