How would you know if your weight transfer rod needs servicing. when I lift on the rear bumper I can lift a couple inches , just had shock rebuilt and sag set.

what sled have you got?
Transfer rod service would include cleaning and applying new grease to the pivot bearings, 3 new seals and cleaning the shaft.
Just had mine apart and did all that. Its not like a shock that has fluid and valving. It has hard plastic bumpers in it and that's why the suspension clunks when going over bumps at slow speed.
Transfer rod does not aid in suspension height or sag. It simply delays the coupling the suspension producing weight transfer. The longer the thread the more delay the more weight transfer which can produce wheelies.
I have mine set at the min thread showing for aggressive corner to corner trail riding which means I can get on the throttle earlier without losing the front end bite in the corner.
