Was riding in U.P this weekend, ran into one of the Yamahas test and research guys. He first asked if I was getting a wet left foot which I wasn't because I had been wearing a bag around my liners. He told me that Yamaha was aware of the problem and they would have a fix out really soon, he said the snow is coming through by the tunnel and getting thrown out by the clutch. He said it would be fine to block all the openings off on the left side in the meen time.He asked if I liked the sled and if I had any thoughts or concerns. I was really glad to see him be really sociable and to listen to my thoughts and concerns as well as give my alot of ideas on things I can do to the sled.Just wanted to give everyone a little heads up. By the way this sled rocks.

Snow seepage through the side panel makes sense. Good news to hear and also thanks for sharing!

The pre-filter material I used came from Marshall Dist and I got through my local shop. It comes in a 18" by 18" piece . For now I just covered the metal vents with the holes in them . I just cut a couple pieces and glued them from behind with auto super goop . I also took some silicone and tried to seal up some of the areas under the clutch where the water gets in . The material is around $20.00 and it seems to work so far . I think some of the problem is the snow being sucked up through the holes in the running boards so I also think the pre-filter material will help that snow out .

Can u post up some pics?

Just a thought:
With the vents blowing hot air the boot stays warm. When the snow hits them it melts due to the boot temp. With non water proof boots your foot gets wet. Our boots say water proof but obviously are not.
This occured to us last week when the boot and sock were wet but the foot wasn't cold. I just cant find a spot where that much snow would come into the bellypan to soak my foot in 80 miles. Waterproof boots are our next purchase.

If you look down while riding you can see the water dripping down onto you boot, it is not snow hitting your boot and melting from the heat.

and I don't think it's snow coming in from the top, I think there is to many holes all over the bottom and front of the belly

I gotta vote for the bottom, I was cruising along on somewhat hardpark with loose snow on top, nothing coming in the top for sure, must be all from the bottom and it was peeing on my boot continuous. I had no snow on boot or running boards just constant fast water dripping off top of stirrup.

Not liking the booter ! Not sure how that got past proto-type testing. Probably changed something from proto to production.

If you are getting that much snow in the clutchs would think you would have some other big issues like major belt slippage
