Hi folks. Hoping someone can enlighten me as to what these 2 pins are, and/or where they go? Previous owner was chasing an oil leak... Thanks in advance.

Are those hollow or solid? Can't remember ever seeing anything like that on an Ape.
The 2 ends closest to your wrist appear to have a similar angle "break"?
Are they possibly the same piece broken in half?

They're solid. Do not believe it was one piece that broke into the 2 here. If you look closely, you see wear markings toward one end, symmetrical on both. I think they were stuffed down inside something to hold it or whatever it was connected to. Hmmmmmmmm

Along similar lines, (and hopefully this one is easier), does anyone know what this connector connects to?

Where did you find them?

I bought this sled used from someone in my hometown and he had all the plastic covering, airbox, battery tray, oil tank ...out of the sled. He had a container with all these nuts/bolts/etc. and those 2 little buggers were in with all the other nuts/bolts

Just a shot in the dark, they are not the hinge pins for the air box clips.

That connector would be for the AUX port that some models had.

He didn't by chance have the stator cover (ie. crankcase cover behind oil tank) off? They almost look like the two dowel pins that are used to align the stator/crankcase cover. That would also explain the two wear marks where they would have been inserted into the block.

I don't know but I can try and find out. The seller said it had an oil leak "at the bottom of the engine". I inspected as best I could the hose between bottom of oil tank and front/base of engine. Couldn't see any contributing issue(s). Don't know if the PO did any of what you reference, but, my impression is that he was not a big wrencher - so thinking he did not have the stator cover off. Thanks though - it gives me something to ask him about.

you could be having an issue like @kinger did with his apex and an oil leak. i think is his case it turned out to be something with the water pump.
