Last year i installed a Supercharger stage1 from Mpi with the stand alone efi
220 hp @10 lbs with no shims or special works.
Don't warry about the wheater or the altitude of the ride of tomorrow, just fill the tank and turn the key.
And you can change your power from 180 to 280 hp just changing a pulley in 10 minutes (of course in that case you need to setup your clutch to the different power).
you can run the stock exhaust or the one you prefer.
I rode with mcx friend ... nice product but i'll never want to change my sc with his mcx

You will likely be on off that throttle alot more on the xtx and the turbo does not like that.
MCX Express 240 9300 km ttl, 8000 on the MCX,

Squamish, please explain...."the turbo does not like that" comment....Not sure I understand...

After riding the SC and the Turbo I didn't feel so big difference on throttle response.
Of course there is a difference but not so big.
My preference is major due to the NO need of setup of my efi system.
I know that lot of people had some trouble to setup the SC with the GEM piggyback system
I never had experience before with any system
I installed a SC system with Standaolne EFI and an Hartman Clutch kit, I turned the key and I rode the sled in all conditions with lot of fun till I destroyed it.

I went powderlites stg 2 then stg 3,, Ive got about 3500 km on this kit and have never had a bad day of riding or lost a day of riding.. I had a crack in the intercooler once and they had one sent to me next day.. The rb3 controller has been great ive only used the maps that Dave and his guys have made up and thats what sold me on the kit back in the day was being able to adjust timing for more bottom end snap and less turbo lag.. Customer service has been great as well!!
I ride in revvy, valemount mountains 5000-7500 ft runnin 17-18 lbs boost with head shim on 50/50 race with his latest map gas n go

So far I am very happy with my MCX180 kit.. I got it mounted at my local Yamaha dealer with the MCX clutch kit also. Turn the key and go! Best bucks i ever spent.
well, no response from Squamish....but a poorly set up turbo will have issues when you are on and off the throttle...and a poorly clutched turbo will have issues...
however, a well set up turbo, and a well clutched turbo is no different than a poorly clutched naturally aspirated sled...it doesnt perform well, and might feel like it does well on/off throttle...

I really like the MCX, I got a 240 and it has been great. They have been building these for a while and are tested and true. Not adjustments ever needed. Just search on here for clutching and away you go. I set up my clutching to what was recommended and it was spot on.

I'll probably purchase boost for a summer project too. I've noticed no one seems to mention the mpi supercharger, is there something about this system that's not as desirable? What about the Yamaha system?
This thread has been good for me I am learning a bunch about the options out there.

few posts above you, is Wolfone, he is from Italy, went the Supercharger route...
Supers are GREAT for low end torque and power....they will make you hang on...turbos are a little more linear in their power surge, the longer you hold onto a turbo the faster it will go...long uphill runs boost for boost, a Turbo will out pull a Super...A Super is a little harder on fuel than a Turbo...But a Super is better for instant get the front end to lift....
it is all give and take, both are great, boost is addictive....
fairly certain that Yamaha is going to be coming out with an OEM Supercharger...
So Yamaha believes in it, and it is proven for sure...
