Im in the middle of stretching my 09 Nytro and when I looked at my drivers they look melted. My track is fully windowed and clipped and these are Wahl drivers. Im running 10lbs of boost. Does anyone know what could have caused this and if these drivers are shot??
Thank you,
Rich

Are you sure it's the drivers and not residue from your sliders?

My sliders are worn, the sled has 350 miles on it but how could the residue from the sliders get into these drivers??

She gets hot and the hifax melt onto the track clips and then onto your drivers. The drivers themselves look fine, but if you are boosted you need to get some Avids.

Thanks Racinstation. The picture I posted didnt show it, but some of the teeth are actually hammered. Looks like Avids are gonna be ordered.

You might want to consider a set of scratchers if you don't have a set already. Doesn't take long for that to happen if things get a little too warm

If your sliders are sticking then the clips are hot enough to start melting the drivers. I had that happening on a day of high speed racing a lot of runs past 130 MPH caused the drivers to start melting, no need to say the hyperfax sliders where gone too. I had to change the drivers because of the damage the melding did to them... they look pretty much the same except mine were melted more than yours are.
