was out pounding the trails the weekend and I can't believe the noise that comes from the skid frame, checked and double checked to make sure that nothing was broken off, is this the norm, I thought I read somewhere about the slappin noise in the Attaks but hopefully someone can help me out here.

If it's happening at slow speed it's normal. It's the front of the skid dropping out.

Sounds like it could be a bearing(s)...speedo or idler wheels...

Yup, a bit annoying when you're looking for something wrong, but normal.

Won't that make it harder to steer and give still less traction.black700 said:tighten up your limitar strap's one notch

Are you sure the noise isnt the shock rubbing on the track?

Its the limiter slap if your getting it at slow speeds over small to moderate bumps. The track would make a slapping noise if its a slapping sound.
Hold the flipper to the bar all the time it wont slap!

THANKS FER THE RESPONSES, i do have limiter strap drop all the way, hoping to get the front end up on snow easier, have to sacrifice some trailability but with alot of powder it sure does help, might try to pull it up a bit, to see if that will help, also i shredded the the bottom idler wheels, thats the norm also I guess will have to replace the weekend i guess

If you are talking about a very loud clunk, at slow speed over ruts this is the Transfer rod reaching the end of its stroke as the rails pivot around. Annoying but 'normal'!
I could do it with the suspension on the bench.
Last year I was climbing all over this trying to find the broken or loose part.........never found any thing..........but one super bad slow section of trail always brings it out and would love to hear how to fix.
This is on an APEX mono, not Attak, I think the same except length.

I had a weird noise and vibration on my 06 apex, annoyed the hell out of me. Remedy..... Sold the sled and picked up a 07 GT !!! Which is what I should have done last year in the first place.

Its just the transfer rod. Any suspension that couples will do it . The differance is the others a cusioned by plastic or rubber bumpers, the Yamaha is not. Mike Knapp#17

I took my rod apart last year and put a couple thick 0-rings on either side of the stopper. Didn't completely cure it, but it did help. My digital camera took a dump on me, otherwise I'd take a picture. Take it apart and you'll see where to put them...
