Think of this way. Yamaha offers better ski much like doo did with flex, precision & pilot. I would jump at it thinking Yamaha engineering did an upgrade. Could be big bucks for Yamaha.

I am running USI Triple Threats 8" carbide stage 1 fins
What a huge upgrade In the steering. It actually turns In the trails now no pushing In the corners . I like the fact that you can change the fins and make these skis even more aggresive If you want. And the fins are farely cheap and the save your skis from waring down

I am amazed at how limited the list is. No Curve, Usi, Arrow, Trix, PPD, not to mention that alot of these companies make many versions
I can only answer this question on a week to week basis, had powderhounds with dartless, now have PPD tripple carbide MTX skis, havent riden it yet with them.

Stock skis with snowtrackers rock on the trail. Excellent tracking, no darting and rail in the corners but they do lack the floation off trail for such a heavy sled

After 2 years with the Pilots I went back to the Stockers and made a set of the Dartless plates. I am now perfectly happy with the way my sled handles. I only wish my sled handled this good from day one.

I have the 5.7 pilots and they are KA for me. 6 inch bars. The only thing I am dealing with now is worn out steering bushings. When I put these on the sled it was night and day. I have had no issues with plastic wear.

I have the Slydog Trail skiis, and they work well. Only dissapointing thing is they wear easily. I have roughley 3000m on them and the outer square edge is worn to a bevel. I think it is caused from running road and climbing the bank to pick up snow.

I dont understand how any of you like the pilots. I had two doo's with them and they were the worst ski I ever had, even worse then my 01 yamaha stock skis.
They also wear horrible, and break very easily.
Maybe they were just bad on the doo, but they actually scared me in turns.
I replaced with c&a's and will do the same on my new apex.

have stock ski's with woody duallies have the front spring adjusted loose with 2 turns tight, turns pretty good for the most part, just have to let out of it real quick to get the front to bite when pushing it in the turns.goes in good but halfway thru it starts to push. today i tightened the front limiter 1 hole to give more front bite., think this should help. after 4 years 36% still running stock ski's i see.wonder if the 2011 ski's will help on these older sleds next season
