What exactly needs to be done to fit a 16" track under

Ok, I'm done (except for adjusting the track). Hopefully it will rotate just fine and not get caught up on the drivers.

The 4 1/2" rail extensions seem just about right. I'm at the very front of them now with PLENTY of adjustment left.

Perhaps I'll post a completed picture?

Today was my first ride with the new track. The first thing I noticed is the sled doesn't roll as easily as with my fully ported finger track. This track is relatively new so it may loosen up a bit as time goes on.

The track is perfectly centered but it still rubs the zinc colored stiffeners running vertically for the front skid bolt holes on both sides. I plan to take my rivet gun (air hammer) and flatten them out a bit to gain the small amount of clearance I need. You can feel the rubbing in your feet as you ride.

In the powder (and there was three feet of fresh powder today) the track hooked up pretty well but Jonny rocket (with his turbo and 162 Maverick)and I were stuck more than we rode. I did climb a trail quite high up the hill but the snow was just too much for either of our sleds to get around very well.

So, I need to take care of the rubbing, check the tension and fit my new single pipe (thanks Kachess) tomorrow.

Frosty.... get some more pics if possible of the areas rubbing and the new exhuast you install.
looking at going with a 16" wide myself next season

Ok, Culvert. I'll try to herd my camera into a place where you can see the problem.
I don't know if it's really a "problem" but the harmonics and vibrations being sent through my feet (right next to the rubbing) are enought to drive me crazy. I can see the cords now on the very outer edges of my track where it's been hitting and I want to stop it now before any more damage takes place.

Although, Jonnyrocket has ridden with the rubbing and vibration for a couple seasons now and his track is still in one piece. I know it's been bugging him too because he's added a set of wheels on the rail tips, played with his limiter strap length, moved the lower mount of his front shock back and up among other things all in attempt to get rid of the vibration. I hope I'm right that it's just a little rubbing on the sides of the tunnel. I'll let you know if the stiffners end up being the fix.

I'm fixing it, one way or another!
