I am totally new to snowmobiles and have yet to receive our service manual. Took this out today and I guess we lost the nut holding the bolt on. See pictures for you reference.
Question--- What is this shock called and what does it do?
I can slide it back and forth without any resistance at all (I don't think this is right)
Machine is
2010 ATTak GT
Any information would be helpful
Thanks
Larry

Not a shock. It is the transfer rod. Allows skid to move before coupling.
So can I just re-install and all will be OK? I just thought It would have some tension on it similar to a shock. Not a shock. It is the transfer rod. Allows skid to move before coupling.

When you're riding on bumps you'll hear a clunking from the skid. You'll be wondering what's about to frag...not to fear, it's just the transfer rod doin' its thing.
