What mods do you plan for?

did you replace the 2 inch that comes on it for the backcountry? i just assumed for bigger is better

Last night I installed a folat plate, new front bumper, ice scratchers, Roll over kit, and swaybar quick disconect (shadetree fabed it myself).

lash cat your sled has gone through some major improvements in last little while can't wait to hear end results. I have 2 many mod plans to list but am starting with rear suspension . Some fox zero pros and maybe stiffer springs off gt or rtx. ;)!

I finally got serious about getting some of the mods done. I have many more but they all envolve $$$$$$$$ that I don't have at the moment.

Let me know how the shocks work out. I am all ears for anything on the rear suspension.

I looked at a set of front shocks at the dealer yesterday. $1600.00. That is not in the buget.

Departing in about a hour for a three day ride. Gots to test out all the mods.

yea don't buy shocks at the dealership!

What shocks where they?

They were fox shocks, but i don't recall which ones they were. I was too shocked by the price to pay much attention.

All the mods worked great. The only failure I had was a broken front bumper. It did what it should have. it took the brunt of force and did not cause any damage to the frame.

The yamaha float plate worked great and so did the rollover kit! It takes a little getting use to the float plate. It changes the way the machine handles a little. Disconnecting the swaybar worked great in the trees. At slow speeds all you have to do is think about the way you want to go and the machine dives in that direction.

Back to the float plate. I have read where people said they are junk. I myself can't see what that is all about. the yamaha and she skinz float plate look alike to me. The one thing skinz does offer is a thinner one. I am happy with the one I have. I beat it hard in the brush due to a quick exit from the river, due to overflow.

If you have a place the thaw out the sled at the end of the day the plate is awesome. I love mine, it makes a huge difference. The front of my sled is no longer a wall trying to get through the snow.

The problem is that snow gets packed In there and turns to ice. Ice expands and tears the plate apart. So if you have a place to thaw it it's not a problem. I have hit a few things and the plate survived very well.

Zip tie your flotation plate around the bottom section of the front subframe. It keeps it from deflecting and allows no snow to get in there. Ziptied mine and have had no issues with ice. I ride deep powder every day.

The mods I have planned is

Change colursettings from white/gray to blue/black ( some done already)
Tunnelcloser ( home made)
Better Boards ( home made)
Clutch kit
Revalved Rtx shocks in the skid
-08 Skid parts
Nytro windshield
Mayby change track to 151"
Mayby Fox Floats front shocks

and and overall cleanup, some polished alu and PC parts

Placed my pre order for a MPI Supercharger yesterday.

In the process of a 153 stretch. Parts and tools all over tha garage.

Lashcat:
Du you have pics of the "swaybar quick disconnect"? Was they homemade or can I buy them online somewhere?

Swaybar

I made it myself. I bought a longer bolt and cut it down. I ground a flat spot on it and drilled a hole for the pin to go in. I will get you a photo of it.
