Next is two Yz450f engines joined together, which makes it a 900cc light weight ditch-banger..

I doubt it.
Be too wide for the FX chassis and Yamaha already has a 120HP sled engine purpose built for snowmobiles from the ground up.

I tend to agree with pimped. The only thing the same as the yz250f motor in the phazer would be the pistons, rings, rods and valves . Everything else would have been 'purpose built'. Meaning Yamaha isn't afraid to make new parts. The 500 cylinders are cast as one so there is no room to just add bigger 450 cylinders. They could just bore them out but I'm not sure they left enough cylinder in the interest of weight. A twin 450f motor would need to be approx 1.4" wider than the 500. In comparison, a tripple 750 is 1.6" wider plus the cylinder wall thickness so maybe 1.9-2". Granted a 750 will be heavier than a twin 450. Keep in mind the Venture lite chassis is already wider in the tunnel area.
If it's me running the show, 08 sees the 120 in the Delta Box II chassis. The 150 goes to 160. A new rear skid is introduced. In 09 a 750 tripple fourstroke is introduced to the FX chassis or a variation there of. In 2010, the 120 gets fuel injection and the Delta Box III is introduced for the Apex.

Its never gonna happen with a 3 cylinder it has to be a twin to keep weight down mabee a 700 twin based on the 500 minus the gear reduction. 3cylinders means 3 carbs 3 exaust pipes 3 pistons and rods its just too much weight to see sub 500 lb. Put it this way do you see any other 3 cyl sno-x sleds? there is a reason there isnt they are too wide and too heavy period.

Who said anything about snow-cross? If the phazer came with a 110-130HP three cylinder, I'd be getting divorced. Okay, maybe not but the urge to snowcheck one would be tenfold. Anybody have the 120 motor weight and the 80 motor weight? How much heavier is the 450f motor than the 250f motor?
