MY sled is bottoming out, I got the springs on H and they still hit from time to time... can I get stiffer springs or am I driving the thing too dam hard ???

This all started when I drove one day with a 10 liter can of gas on the back.

08 mtx

there are heavier springs available. you may even be able to find some apex springs on ebay. other than that you get some from your dealer.

if you did not want to upgrade your rear suspension check out carbonseld.com they make a float kit for the rear

I upgraded the rear shock which helped a lot. I'm 225 lb without gear on.

I am still considering new springs.

I believe the MTX changed the rear shock for 2009.

What shock did you buy?

I think where mine sat so long in one place the shock and the springs are weak.

I am guessing it is the shock that was stock on the 2009 MTX. It is the same shock that is on the 2009 XTX only with a different eye to eye measurement i believe.

Check out the FX Nytro general section. I believe that there are a bunch of xtx riders that have blown the wall of these shocks.

If I was to replace the rear shock now I'd have a real hard look at the fox air shock and getting rid of the springs.

I paid $460 i believe for the rear shock, throw in some new springs and the price of the air shock is pretty reasonable.

Go for the heavier one and dial it back down as stock setups need to be loose enough that they bottom out on the trail so they will give a bit and hook up in powder snow; that stock MTX track needs it soft to run deep stuff. You would love the 2010 SE 162 in the pow
