Hey Fellas....

What is the best rivet to use for my tunnel extension?? I've read that the Yamaha ones are good but $$.....do they work with a normal rivet gun?

Thanks!

When I replaced the tunnel, on my old Wildcat, I just used aluminum pop-rivets, from the local hardware store. They worked just fine, and held up well. I don't see why they wouldn't work on an extension, considering you won't be standing on it.

The Yammi ones will fit in a standard gun if you have the adjustable tips. The shafts are a bit thicker than normal rivets.

How many do you need I have a bunch left over from installing my ZX2 warning though once on they are next to impossible to get back off! I had to remove 3 to fix a screw up and it took me 2 hours. I think my mistake was trying to drill it out with the same size bit should have started real small and worked my way up to it.

They are steel head, steel mandrel. $0.50 each.

I'd go with "Structural Aluminum Rivets", 3/16" dia, you can get what you need from Fastenal in Canada. Also, if you've got a crapper load to do, I'd suggest going to a Princess Auto and get a pneumatic rivet gun, save bustin knuckles and sore hands!
