What should I get for a windshield

just. get one from Yamaha.

I have the tall grandpa windshield and I love it.

I think there are a few different sizes.

Look at Cannondales picture of his on his "All done waiting for snow" post. I have one like that too, best money i spent on the sled!

You don't need no stinking windshield. Man up, man.

I'm with you. Buy a warmer jacket.

But remember, when the kids ride in front of you they NEED that wind protection. Just ask my 2 1/2 year old....You gotta get 'em blue when they are young!

What do you want.... better protection or cool (cold)looks ? Since, you have the stock mount why not buy an OEM tall for those cold days and correct me if I am wrong but, I believe they use the same mount and so, it would be only 4 allen heads to change back and forth.

I'd be inclined to buy the tall "grandpa" one from Yamaha if I were to get another one. These sleds are fun but COLD to ride!

This is exactly what i did, or planned, but i liked the taller one so much more, i never went back!
I will say, during hard riding, i have hit the windshield with my helmet more then once, kinda scary. But that was a few "out of control bonzi bump runs".
It's white out at least now in Wi! Braaaaaap!

My tall windshield allows me to get close enough to pass in snowdust and may have even deflected the deer I hit.Is it kinda dumb looking?Yes but I am over looks and into performance so I dont care.

If your 5'11" tall and sit at all then look into a Medium height, The Tall puts the black plastic trim on the top of the shield DIRECTLY into your line of sight. I don't find the medium any colder than the tall and the top of it is low enough where it isn't directly in your field of view. It's still tall enough too to duck behind if needed.

I busted mine twice once going under a tree in the grafton race during parde lap. I was not the only one, mostly all the yamaha rides had them off and a lot of them busted. Then during my total out. I found it easyier for me not to have a windsheld. Its help when you lean forword or land that you dont get K.O. by you shield hiting you in the throut.
