What is everyone thinking? Getting 200+ hp to hook up and launch on a 137" track will be a challenge. For my s/c Nytro (180hp) I went with pre-studded ice ripper track and added traditional studs, and still had times where hooking up was tough even with the longer track. The 137" track has a significantly smaller contact area and more power to handle.

I'll be going with woods 144 template on mine the same as I used on my viper ltx last season. I'll run the 1.450 stud for a little better more aggressive bite. Either the signature stainless or the megabites. And aluminun round backers from them.

I've had good luck with the woodys triggers on my nytro they hook on ice and everything but a little more fragile. But I'm not sure what pattern to go with yet

From most of what I've read, it's recommended 1 stud per HP. That theory is how I planned on studding mine.
SJ, just wondering how much push you get with that set up?

No push whatsoever...well added 9" carbide...sled handled great...and obviously hooked up great to...

Anyone thinking of the single ply track studs??- they have a slightly larger head and backer that help reduce tear outs. Grad Master Single Ply from Woody's or Power Point +Plus from Stud Boy. Used them on my 2011Apex - no tear outs in 18,000 kms, my 2016 Apex had more studs and tear out galore by 10,000 kms. Did just notice the Woody's site says they are not for 2ply tracks - not sure why that is.

Nobody has mentioned running dual backers. Anyone doing it? I had a lot of tear outs on my Vector years ago, and used the dual backers on my '07 Apex RTX with good success as far as tear-outs are concerned. Didn't use them on the Nytro though. Maybe a consideration?

no fat head studs...the larger head robs efficiency...in quantity and installed correctly...you wond get tear outs...
as to doubles...they make it even stronger...but can also cause a driveline scrub...and vibration is possible ...especailly with the "up the middle setups.
my buddy thought I was crazy...til mid season last year...then prepared himself for removing the doubles..
this is especailly the case with intro/extro drivers..

I ran doubles on Apex Gt two doubles every bar. Held up really well.Nobody has mentioned running dual backers. Anyone doing it? I ran 2 double backers in one row and 2 single round backers in the next row = 144 zero issues. On my rtx le I am going to run 2dbl backers in every row. I am going to try the black stud boy super lite polymer ones. Wish me luck

I ran the single ply woody studs with the big heads. 4 per row down the middle with double backers on my xf 9000 225 hp with 3500 miles with no issues. I ran 1.45 length. I run all kinds of conditions from roads to very low snow and these studs held up great. I'm interested in what other setups guys are using. Sjs setup looks pretty awesome but not sure how well the long studs will hold up under bad conditions. I don't want to worry about my studs once the season begins.

Install longer studs correctly as SJ eluded to and you can have miles of smiles as long as you're not throttle jockeying over roads asphalt etc. I run Stud Boy lake racers (same thinner design as stingers/triggers) without fail.
