Ok Looking to do 144 for normal trail riding. It looks like fast-trac air lite backers. Now for studs I'm looking at:
1.325's
Woody's Mega-Bites (friends use them)
-----------------------------------------------
Anyone tried Mack Studs? They say:
Zinc Plated, Heat Treated, Push Through, 60° Welded Carbide Tip.
Mack Studs have a 1/4" Deep Carbide Tip.
The flat, thicker base design provides more durability and support.
Nylon Lock Nuts included in all stud purchases.
They are a full 5/16" the whole length so I would think they would be stronger? They have a 5yr break/bend warranty. I'm not looking for Maximum traction. I am more concerned in durability
-----------------------------------------
Sno-Studs Warthog XZP
---------------------------------------
Fast-Trac TOP GUN II STUDS. They lok almost like the Mack ones. But isn't SS less durable?
So what would y'all recommend for long term durability for normal trail riding?
Thanks!!

Running 1.325's in a 1.250 track, you won't wear them out that's for sure. I like the mega bites my buddy runs triggers they look a little lighter time will tell on how they hold up. We both use 1.450's.

What length for the 1.25" lug Sidewinder? Maximum traction as long as I can go.

I have 14000 kms on on last track and 1.450's on my turbo 1200 skidoo 1 bent mega bite.
How and where you ride has a lot to do with bending studs. If you're smart in marginal conditions you can avoid damaging studs.
Just my past experience and opinion of what has worked for me.

I assume you understand staying out of the middle roughly 3" is required for long studs...that said...you could easily go .625 over the lug

Was thinking gold diggers 144/1.45's
Note: I have 2/120" sled with 10,000miles on PowerPoint plus single ply.....couple bent ones. Great product.
Also, plastic backers have been good to me.
Don't know which I'll do.
A lot of times riding in poor conditions is the killer. Ride in low snow. Don't hammer down!
